Football – history – diversity … free resource!

Thanks to Chris Rowe from the EuroClio historical content team for sharing this early work from the EuroClio project ‘Football Makes History‘- Life Stories Diversity NEW.  The team have been working to provide content about footballers from diverse backgrounds who have led the way in changing and challenging attitudes. From the start of the 20th century to the present day, there are a series of footballers presented – women footballers, black footballers, gay footballers… and not just part of the UK story. This is a nice resource to form the basis of a wall display, or classroom activity, or open evening  activity. The material is presented on a powerpoint and, after the intro slides, could be printed back to back – thinking questions on the front and then more detail on the back. For more ideas and resources to help you teach about the past in a way that does justice to the diverse people who live there, go to HA Diversity resources.
